The Challenge To love Romans 12:9-13 . Introduction love , love , love , Christians this is your call, love your neighbor as yourself for God loves all.. I recently read a story about Russian-born novelist Vladimir Nabokov. He wrote Lolita. He was severely criticized as both a writer and a human being for being cold, aloof, and lacking in compassion. There is an incident in his life that seems to support this. It happened one summer shortly after WWII. Vladimir was visiting friends in Alta, Utah, for a few weeks. Nabakov took daily hikes in the creek-beds and gullys outside of town. He was an avid butterfly collector, having published a number of papers on entomology, and whenever he wasn't writing he could usually be found on a butterfly hunting expedition. One evening after returning from his hike, Nabakov sat at the dinner table with his host and described his pursuit of one particularly interesting butterfly. It was a Vanessa virginiensis, he said.
