(Core Standard). Performance Objectives: Given a graphic organizer, the fifth Grade students will identify the three branches of government in the United States with 100% accuracy. Given a graphic organizer, the fifth Grade students will label at least three functions of each branch of government in the United States.

Assessment: To assess the students on the performance objectives, the teacher will look at their graphic organizer and fill out a rubric. (Rubric located at the end of the lesson plan) Advanced Preparation by Teacher: Rubric (20 copies) White poster sized paper (3) Construction paper (at least 20) Colored markers
