Kent Probation took the lead on the project, Crossing the Communication Divide'. The work was overseen by a Project Board comprised of Prison and Probation representatives and drew heavily on the knowledge and skills of internal and external specialists. The overall aim of the project was to produce guidance for practitioners involved in offender management and develop a toolkit to support their work with offenders with Communication difficulties .
