1 unit 1 Proof, Parallel and Perpendicular Lines SpringBoard Geometry Pages 1-100 (add in comma after the course and write the unit and dash before pages) Overview In this unit , students study formal definitions of basic figures, the axiomatic system of geometry and the basics of logical reasoning. They are then introduced to mathematical proof by applying formal definitions and logical reasoning to develop proofs about basic figures. Finally, students learn how to write equations of parallel and perpendicular lines. Standards: Standards in this unit : Know precise definitions of angle, circle, perpendicular line, parallel line, and line segment, based on the undefined notions of point, line, distance along a line, and distance around a circular arc.
