Introduction Polymers are substances whose molecules consist of a large number of units of a few types: the units themselves, consisting of a number of atoms, are usually referred to as the segments of the polymer. In the polymerization of a mixture of two monomers, the structure of each macromolecule contains units of both monomers. Such a polymer is called copolymer and the process of its synthesis is called copolymerization.
