VALIDITY Page 1 March 14, and External VALIDITY goal of research is to establish clear relationships among the variables of interest. Thisis true whether you choose an experimental or a correlational design. Regardless of yourresearch design, the conclusions you draw from your results depend on how well youconstruct your study within the bounds of that design. I would like to discuss twoimportant properties of good research design: Internal VALIDITY and External VALIDITY designs are invented to enable the researcher to answer research questions asvalidly, objectively, accurately, and economically as possible. research plan is deliberately and specifically conceived and executed to bringempirical evidence to bear on the research problems.
