SATAN s rebellion and fall supposedly caused the earth to become without form and void in verse 2 and he was cast out of heaven at that time. People who believe the heavens and earth are only 6000 years old say he was cast out in a gap between Gen 2 and Gen 3. This was at some point after Adam was created on day six, but before SATAN spoke to Eve and deceived her. A third idea holds that SATAN rebelled and was cast out before the heavens and earth were created in Gen 1:1.
