Sometimes it does not seem so "merry." I just got back from a quick trip to the store. Wow .. there was not a lot of Merry .. I have a tendency to lose my "merriness" during this season too. I find the stress of "doing" really does take its toll on me. I find I am impatient with my Darren and our children as I try to make everything perfect. So I had to change some of my behaviors to make Christmas a happy time. Not a time everyone is scared of me. To start with I made a choice a couple of years a go that I would try and do my shopping early. Each month we save money for Christmas and in October I dedicate one day to finish the shopping. Whoever I can t find for that day I buy them gift certificates. I can t wrap until December or I totally forget what I bought them. Everything goes in gift bags to save time and I stopped trying to make it all perfect.
