Eyesight Screening You are required to successfully pass an eyesight examination before taking the commercial driver license (CDL) knowledge tests, and also when renewing your CDL. The eyesight examination will measure your visual acuity. You must be able to read the 20/40 vision line with both eyes in order to pass.
