Chapter 3: Occupancy Classification and Use General Comments Chapter 3 provides for the classification of buildings, structures and parts thereof into occupancy groups based on the purpose or purposes for which they are used. Section 302 identifies the occupancy groups into which all buildings, structures and parts thereof must be classified.
