Data’s benefits and risks are amplified by the expanding capabilities of digital networks, technology systems, algorithms, and computational methods that enable data to be easily collected, combined, manipulated, and shared. The Federal Data Strategy, delivered in December 2019, recognized the importance of ethics in its founding principles.
