INTRODUCTION TO BINARY LOGISTIC REGRESSION
Due to a number of conceptual and statistical problems, however, people no longer use OLS regression to analyze dichotomous dependent variables. There are a number of alternative approaches to modeling dichotomous outcomes including logistic regression, probit analysis, and discriminant function analysis.

price elasticity of demand inelastic if it does not ...
www.asc.ohio-state.eduElasticity The price elasticity of demand measures the sensitivity of the quantity demanded to changes in the price. Demand is inelastic if it does not respond much to price changes, and elastic if demand changes a lot when the price changes. • Necessities tend to have inelastic demand.

Lecture 1: Stationary Time Series
www.asc.ohio-state.eduIt is clear that a white noise process is stationary. Note that white noise assumption is weaker than identically independent distributed assumption. To tell if a process is covariance stationary, we compute the unconditional first two moments, therefore, processes with conditional heteroskedasticity may still be stationary.
7. Kinetic Energy and Work Kinetic Energy
www.asc.ohio-state.edu• energy transferred from an object is negative work, e.g. gravity performs negative work on a ball tossed up by transferring energy from the ball, causing the ball to slow down. • both kinetic energy and work are scalars. • unit: J Work Energy Theorem: The work done is equal to the change in the kinetic energy: ∆K = K f − K i = W

The role of government in a market economy
www.asc.ohio-state.eduThe consensus in the economic literature, with regard to the role of the government in a market economy, calls upon the government to perform five functions. These functions are: 1. Providing the economy with a legal structure: This is the first and most important function a government should provide and without it an economy may collapse.

The estimator which minimizes the sum of absolute residuals is an important special case.

Multinomial logistic regression is a simple extension of binary logistic regression that allows for more than two categories of the dependent or outcome variable. Like binary logistic regression, multinomial logistic regression uses maximum likelihood estimation to evaluate the probability of categorical membership.

The coe cients of the index can look di erent, but the probability results are usually very similar to the results from probit and from the LPM.
