Flexible pavements generally have thin wearing surfaces and thick bases. Asphalt is an example of a flexible pavement. Hot mix asphalt has more strength than cold mixes therefore it can be laid in thinner layers. Rigid pavements distribute imposed loads over a broader area than do flexible pavements and therefore require
