A Simulink model for the damped harmonic oscillator can be created using the differential equation in the form x¨ = 1 m (bx˙ +kx). This leads to a modification of the model in Figure 3.7. We simply add a term bx˙. The model is shown in Figure 3.9. We consider a specific example using k = 5, m = 2, and b = 0.1.
