The nation’s hospitals and health systems have forged ahead to create the most interoperable systems possible to date. The task is incomplete, but their effort has produced measurable results (Figure 1): • 93 percent of hospitals nationally give patients the ability to view their health records online, up from 27 percent in 2012.
