The Windsor Volunteer Fire Department was created at a Town Meeting held on June 17, 1991. This was established as a municipal corporation for the purpose of extinguishing fires pursuant to the statutory provisions of that time. The Fire Department boundaries were established and Department Chief Officer was appointed by the Town Manager.
