The foundational study (1st study in this eBook) showed hydrogen to be a selective antioxidant. Hydrogen is selective because it only reacts with cell damaging oxygen radicals like hydroxyl radicals. Hydroxyl radicals are the most cytotoxic (cell damaging). By reducing the occurrence of hydroxyl radicals, cells can function as they should.
