Aluminum can be readily joined either by soldering and brazing, and by many of the arc welding processes such Shielded Metal-arc, Gas Tungsten-arc, and Gas Metal-arc Processes. However, it is known as a “white metal” which could be confused with magnesium which is also white. A simple test to determine what metal it is the “Acid Test”.
