A pressure ulcer is localized injury to the skin or underlying tissue usually over a bony prominence, because of unrelieved pressure and or in combination with shear and/or friction. Pressure causes poor tissue perfusion and tissue damage can occur within 2-6 hours. 2018 Pressure Ulcers
