Mid-Winter Festival 2022 welcomes you to THESE BOOTS Were Made for DANCING It is with great pleasure and gratitude that we welcome you to the 61st annual Mid-Winter Festival. Without you we would not be doing what we do. So please enjoy this great weekend that we have planned for you.
2 Dance, shop and visit with other dancers. Our featured callers this week- end are Ray Gallagher and Brent Mawdsley. Our round dance cuers are Randy and Marie Preskitt. Our clogging instructor is Andy Howard. They will all keep us on our toes on the dance floors. We have a wonderful committee that has spent many hours working to make this a fun filled festival. We especially thank them for all of their attention and dedicated work. Please take a moment to thank them for their time and effort when you see them. Several of them have been on the Mid-Winter committees for years because they love our activity. California Heritage Dancers The California Heritage Dancers will be performing three times during the festival; once on Friday evening at 6:30 , Saturday afternoon at 4 , and during the Showcase of Rounds Saturday evening at 6 The California Heritage Dancers is an affiliate club in the San Diego Square Dance association.
5 The purpose of California Heritage Dancers is to promote a historical view of square DANCING . Square DANCING has its roots in American folk dance and is truly American in origin. The California Heritage Dancers demonstrate through exhibitions the unique place which square DANCING holds in our national culture. The Heritage Dancers were organized in 1986 by its' founder and director, Ruth Walker. Extensive research has resulted in a series of dances performed in authentic period costuming. The ever-ex- panding repertoire currently includes ten different dances dating from the colonial period up to modern times. 5. THESE BOOTS Were Made For DANCING Oregon's 2022 Mid-Winter Festival No festival can happen without the hard work of many people. This year, they exceeded the sum of the parts to create a special event in order to welcome everyone back to Mid-Winter after missing a year.

Over the last 17 years, you've seen Albany's restoration efforts bring new life to our historic downtown and watched our carousel grow from a dream to reality.
