1 After getting most of the way around the bendyou will come across a series of islands in the the first island the banks of the riverbecome quite marshy and offer good opportunitiesfor viewing wildlife and past the third and largest of three islandsyou will enter the steep-walled gorge where you willpaddle beneath towering cliffs that reach amaximum height of 36m (120 feet).The River alsobegins to deepen here to to (5 to 8 feet).A large marsh area extends along the east bankof the River to either side of the hydro line cut.
