5 AugustinegrassZoysiagrassThis product will not harm most nearby established ornamental trees and USE PRECAUTIONSA pply BALAN TURF HERBICIDE to the turf prior to the germination ofweed grasses since this product will not control established weeds. This productmay thin established annual bluegrass (Poa annua) turfs and fine-leafed fescuesat rates above 60 pounds per acre ( pounds active ingredient). BALAN HERBICIDE should not be applied in the spring to turfgrass planted theprevious fall. In bermudagrass areas that have been over-seeded with wintergrasses, a spring application of this product may thin the over-seeded of varying cultural practices, BALAN TURF HERBICIDE shouldnot be used on putting greens. BALAN TURF HERBICIDE should not beused on dichondra.

6 This product should not be applied to newly sprigged areasof bermudagrass, St. Augustinegrass or centipedegrass until these turfs are DIRECTIONSR ates, Frequency and Timing of ApplicationSuccessful preemergence control of the annual grass weeds listed on this labelrequires proper timing of BALAN TURF HERBICIDE approximately one to two weeks priorto the germination of annual grass weeds. All summer annual grasses do notgerminate at the same time. If application timing does not coincide with thenormal germination period of any of the annual grass weeds listed on this label,weed control results may be erratic or poor.
