Rose: 331-3154 THE ASSUMPTION Wednesday, August 15, 2018, is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and is a Holy Day of Obligation. Our Mass schedule is as follows: Tuesday, August 14th 5:30 Wednesday, August 15th: 7:00 ; 9:00 ; 12:05 ; and 5:30 Pope Pius XII declared the Assumption a dogma of our faith in 1950.

5 The Assumption celebrates Mary s being taken up to Heaven body and soul at the end of her life. LITURGY OF THE WORD The Lord sustained Elijah on his journey to the desert, providing food and water when he was ready to give up. Elijah went on to walk through the desert for forty days, a way of expressing a very long time. In the Gospel Jesus reveals himself to be the living bread from heaven, able to sustain us through our trials and difficulties, and ultimately on our journey to eternal life. When we pray for this daily bread , do we realize what we ask for and what we receive? PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS God our Father, who wills that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of your truth, we beg you to send laborers into your harvest and grant them grace to speak your word with boldness so that your word may spread and be glorified and all nations may know you, the only God and him who you have sent, Jesus Christ, your son, Our Lord.

These will be held in the Parish Center on Tuesdays- 7- 8:30pm starting September 11th. Those that wish to receive sacraments and be received into the Catholic faith will receive sacraments at the Easter Vigil, April 20th.

10 Each week s topics will be listed in the BULLETIN , so it is open to all. Those wishing to be received into the faith, or Catholics in need of sacraments are asked to fill out the RCIA form in the Parish Office or contact Monsignor Desmond. Important information!!
