1 Title of Report: PEACE IV One Community Programme Update Officer Presenting: Director of Health and CommunityAuthor: Head of Community Development and Leisure1 Purpose of Report/Recommendations update Members on the PEACE IV One Community Programme . The aim of the Programme is to embed Good Relations within the 8 Local Community Growth Plans. City and Strabane District Council submitted a bid to Peace IV for funding to embed Good Relations within each of the 8 Local Community Growth Plans. A range of consultation meetings were held prior to the submission of the Stage 1 bid in Spring 2016. local Community planning process has as its objective the engagement of people and communities in decisions that will affect them through participation in the development of 8 Local Community Growth Plans.
2 Good Relations is a cross cutting theme within the Strategic Growth Plan and the Local Community Growth Plans. application was submitted to Peace IV in April 2016. The application was successful and an allocation of 148K was secured. The One Community Programme provides financial resources to employ a Good Relations Community Planning Co-ordinator who will work closely with each of the Local Community Growth Partnerships and the Good Relations team within Council in order to embed Good Relations within each of the 8 Local Community Growth Good Relations Community Planning Co-ordinator has had a series of meetings with the interim chairs of the Local Community Growth Partnerships, Rural Networks Organisations, Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership Representatives and Council s Good Relations Officers in order to brief them on the One Community Programme.
3 It is intended that the Good Relations Action Plan for 2018/19 will take account of feedback from the Steering Group which has been set up as part of the delivery of the One Community part of this process, and in line with the requirements of the Peace 1V Programme, 8 Local Good Relations Champions were nominated to form a steering group in order to promote the cross cutting theme of Good Relations within each of the 8 Local Community Growth Plans. The Good Relations Champions have all been nominated from the 7 DEAs and Strabane Town. The first steering group meeting was held at the Derry City and Strabane Council Offices on 23rd November line with the requirements of the Peace 1V Programme, the Steering Group will be required to consider and make recommendations on the allocation of funding to each of the Local Community Growth Partnership areas.
4 A further report will be presented to committee following Steering Group recommendations in early February , Equality, Legal, HR, Improvement and other are no financial or HR implications at this will be sought from the Equality Officer with regards to any specific EQIA requirements in relation to delivery of resources within the project is in line with the Department Improvement Objective To create opportunities to improve, extend and maximise access to facilities and services which deliver increased safety and cohesion within the Community (HC4) .
