3 3/9 Conjoint Board : Committee consisting of representatives from all of universities where PG subspecialty program is conducted together with representatives from Ministry of Health and Academic of Medicine Conjoint vetting : vetting of examination questions with the members of all the three universities who are in the conjoint Central vetting : vetting at PPSP in the presence of lecturer from the department of medical education, chairman of Program and coordinator from the department concerned. 5.

PROCEDURE Action Responsible person Reception/Orientation of Stage I students a. Meet students and hand over the Programme Book, the time- table and log book. (PPSP/PG/IMMUNO/CP1/IR1 and PPSP/PG/IMMUNO/CP1/IR2).
5 B. Introduce students to staffs and facilities in the Dept of Immunology. Teaching and Learning a. Conduct lectures and supervise students in practicals (refer to time-table). b. Allocate seminar topics and conduct student s seminar. Preparation of end of posting assessment a. Prepare and vet questions at department. b. Conduct end of posting assessment. c. Compile the marks of student s performance (Supervisor s Report Form, practical logbook and end posting assessment). Preparation of Professional Examination Part I a. Prepare and vet questions at department. b. Submit vetted questions to S1C of Hematology, Chemical Pathology and Microbiology for central/conjoint vetting if requested c. 6 Meet students and introduce them to all staffs in the Dept of Immunology. b. Identify academic (AS) and dissertation supervisor (DS) for each student. Teaching and learning a. Organize immunology laboratory postings for students. b. Plan allocation of postings at various wards/clinics/centers and write letters to respective HODs. c. Prepare time-table for JC/seminar, allocate seminar topic and conduct student`s seminar (for year 2-4). d. Allow students to attend courses organized by PPSP (such as Research Methodology Workshop, Good Clinical Practice, Ethics and Communication Skills, and Biostatistics). e. Discuss Research Project Proposal (Dissertation) (PPSP/PG/CP2/IR9): - Organize student presentation at Dept. on research proposal. - Allow students to attend ethical committee meeting for project approval - Supervise student with regard to data collection/analysis. Continuous assessment a. Perform yearly assessment for students (MCQs and essays).
7 B. Assess students by filling up Supervisor Report Form from PG Office (PPSP/PG/IMMUNO/CP1/R12/L5). c. Assess dissertation project progress by filling up the form PG office (PPSP/PG/IMMUNO/CP1/R14/L7.) d. Supervise in writing-up dissertation for submission and nominate internal and external examiners to PG office 6 months before professional exam (in year 4). e. Assess continuous assessment (log book, case reports & project dissertation) before sitting for the professional exam. Conduct departmental vetting Notes: - Vetting panel must include at least four lecturers - One hard copy is kept in a locked cabinet in Dept.
8 Office. c. Submit vetted questions to PG office for central vetting. d. Attend central vetting conducted at PG office. e . Prepare materials for OSPE and long practical f. Identify 2 internal and 1 external examiners for dissertation Notes: External examiner also for the professional Exam g. Identify invigilators for theory exams (MCQs and assays) and practical exams (OSPE and long practical). h. Identify examiners for viva. Professional Examination a. Run the examination as scheduled (refer to exam time table). b. Submit the results to PG Office c.
