INTRODUCTION First, we would like to thank you very much for choosing our new Soldamatic AUGMENTED TRAINING TECHNOLOGY to help you modernize and improve your welding training processes. AUGMENTED TRAINING has been designed and developed to introduce a competitive technological innovation to help the welding training institutions, attending current and future increasing government and market demands for competent welders in different sector.
2 We support our clients to achieve their objectives of qualifying more welding professionals, locally, in less time safer, reducing the environmental impact, promoting women participation in a traditionally male profession and a cost-effective way, contributing to increase countries and companies competitiveness for growth and employment generation. This guide does not intend to be a welding guide, this is a guide to understand the use of none of the AUGMENTED TRAINING components. The TEACHER SOFTWARE enhances the instructor s labour letting him/her to do his/her best. This tool allows creating, organizing, and monitoring a welding course including theory and practice. TEACHER SOFTWARE INSTALLATION Download the TEACHER SOFTWARE at: Hardware requirements: - Windows Vista, 7 - Processor 32 bits (x86) 3MB - RAM 2GB - Graphic 512MB DirectX compatible. - NVidia GeForce GT440 or higher - ATI Radeon HD5000 or higher - HDD 250MB Installation Double-click on the file. Select your language: Continue with the TEACHER SOFTWARE Setup process: 5 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE 6 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE 7 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE Connections. If you are running the StandAlone configuration: - Switch on the supplied ROUTER WIFI. - Switch on your Soldamatic .
4 If you are running the Classroom configuration: - Connect the supplied ROUTER WIFI to the Soldamatic SERVER using the supplied Ethernet cable. 8 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE - Switch on both the ROUTER and the SERVER. - Switch on your SOLDAMATICs. For both configurations, connect the computer where you are running the TEACHER SOFTWARE to the Soldamatic network. Please, make sure that it is connected to the Soldamatic network and not to any other available network. Use the quick access to open the TEACHER SOFTWARE . The following screen will appear: Language Selection: It is available in the upper right side of the screen: The first time you run the program, English language is set by default. Select your language and it will not be changed anymore. 9 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE Login: an IP address will be required.
5 - StandAlone configuration: The IP address appears on the lower left corner of your Soldamatic screen as showcased in the following picture: Once you know the IP address, introduce it in the TEACHER login screen: -Classroom Configuration: The IP address is always the same: Press connect. Enter User ( TEACHER ) and password ( Soldamatic ): 10 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE If the connection fails, the following message will be displayed: This error may be caused by one of these two issues: 1. Error when writing the IP address. Check it and try again. 2. Please, make sure that you are connected to the Soldamatic network and check that all the steps have been properly followed and both the supplied router and the Soldamatic simulator are connected. 11 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE 2. START USING YOUR TEACHER SOFTWARE COURSES In the left part, you will find a list of courses added by default: - Welding Curricula - Open Demo - Abicor Binzel course All the courses you would like to add will appear there.
6 You can add, edit, and delete courses. IMPORTANT: all the courses included by default cannot be edited. 12 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE Course data: Name: Official name of the course. Objectives: Objectives of the course. Theory hours: Planned number of theory hours (to be studied through e- Soldamatic or in the Soldamatic simulator). Soldamatic hours: Planned number of Soldamatic simulator practice hours. Workshop hours: Planned number of real welding booth practice hours. Classroom: Classroom assigned to the course in the training center. Training center: Name of the training center. Instructor: Name of the welding instructor. Synchronize with eSoldamatic: This option is to synchronize every single content TEACHER wants to the e-Learning Platform. 13 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE Modules: You can add or delete modules from a course previously CREATED (modules are created from modules menu).
7 Select the course you want to manage modules for. You can see all the created students in the left column, and all the students assigned to the course in the right one. Use the arrow to add a module to the selected course: you can make the same action by dragging the selected module to the modules list of the course in question. Use the arrow to remove modules from the selected course. You can make the same action by dragging the selected module to the total list of modules 14 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE Students: You can add or delete students from a course previously CREATED (students are created from the students menu). Select the course you want to manage students for. You can see all the created students in the left column, and all the students assigned to the course in the right one.
8 Use the arrow to add a student to the selected course. Use this arrow to remove students from the selected course 15 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE Course History Get a course report from this option. Select Create PDF and you will be asked the following: Select the option you prefer the most to get a .pdf file like this: Statistics Check the progress of the entire course or of a student. You can also generate a report from the Create a pdf option. 16 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE ADD COURSE Press the Add course button and the following screen will be displayed: Fill in the fields: Name field is required. The rest of the fields are optional. 17 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE Press Next , and the following screen will be displayed. You can add or delete students for the course. You also have the possibility of creating new students from this menu: When you press Next , a new screen will be displayed.
9 Here, you can add or delete modules for the new course: When you have finished, press Submit and you will go back to Course screen and our new course will appear listed with the rest. When you have finished, press Submit and you will go back to Course screen and our new course will appear listed. 18 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE EDIT COURSE If you want to change the course data, double click on the course you want to change or select the course and press Edit course . Once the course is selected, this screen will be displayed: It is like the Add course screen except the saved data of the course will appear in the correspondent fields, so that you may edit it as needed. Reference cannot be changed. When finishing your editing, press Submit and all your changes will be saved. 19 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE Remember: Standard courses cannot be edited.
10 They will appear in grey like the following image: - DELETE COURSE Select the course you want to delete from a course list and press Delete course (Orange button in the bottom left area of the screen). A check will be launched to ask if you really want to delete the selected course. 20 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE 3. STUDENTS In the left side of the screen, a list of existing students is displayed. You can select a course to see only the students assigned to that course. 21 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE STUDENT INFORMATION Select a student to see his/her personal profile in the right side of the screen. Selecting a course, you can have access to the student history just pressing Course History: 22 TEACHER SOFTWARE GUIDE This screen provides information about the student s activities in a specific module: the exercises that the student has already done, the activities that he/she must do and how many activities are pending until he/she finishes the course: This picture shows a course breakdown with its different assigned modules and its corresponding didactic units.
