SOUNDOWN S SYLOMER isolation foam urethane products were first introduced into marine yachtconstruction by our engineering affiliate J&A Enterprises, in 1983 on the mega yacht SHERGAR. Sincethat time this material has become the standard for vibration isolation pads used in isolation of finishsurfaces in yacht interiors, foams are most often used for elasticsupport of cabin soles, effectively isolatingstructureborne noise from engines, gears, pro-pellers, and water impact. They also isolatefootfall noise transmission from hard flooredmain deck spaces (galley) to cabins foams, when bonded to wooden firring strips, provide an excellent isolated support forbulkhead and hull side linings when the highestnoise reduction is standard grades of Sylomer used in theseapplications are the soft R-12 which is grey incolor, and the slightly stiffer L-12 which isgreen.
