Students receiving this high recognition have been selected by an evaluation of all facets of their performances. 3 Based upon outstanding PSAT results, we have two students who have been named as a National Merit Finalists: Hannah Matuszak and Jonathan Reese. Hannah Matuszak is being offered a college-sponsored Merit Scholarship award for use at the institution that is financing it. The name of the Scholarship Hannah is being offered is the National Merit University of Kentucky Scholarship, this is a full tuition scholarship for 4 years. Pursuant to an Agreement with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), this Scholarship is sponsored by University of Kentucky. Jonathan Reese has been selected as a winner of the National Merit $2,500 Scholarship. This Scholarship is underwritten by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) with its own Funds.

4 Kaylee Harter has been selected as a winner of the Fifth Third $2,500 Scholarship. Pursuant to an Agreement with National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), this Special Scholarship award is sponsored by Fifth Third Foundation. Olivia Henderson has been selected as a winner of the Macy s Inc. $1,000 Scholarship. Pursuant to an Agreement with National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), this Special Scholarship award is sponsored by Macy s Inc. We also have two students named as Commended Students. They are: Morlan Osgood and Amanda Slager. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY NATIONAL FINALIST Since 1946, more than $12 million in scholarships has been awarded to outstanding NHS Senior members.

5 The scholarship program is supported by the parent organization of NHS, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). NASSP is committed to growing the NHS Scholarship program in response to the dire need to increase college access and student success, providing additional resources to help students and families face the rising cost of higher education. This year we have a finalists receiving a $3,000 Scholarship: Morlan Osgood. NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY PARK SCHOLARSHIP The mission of the Park Scholarships program is to bring exceptional students to NC State, based on outstanding accomplishments and potential in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

6 The program develops and supports Park Scholars in these areas, preparing them for lifelong contributions to the campus, state, nation, and world. The Park Scholarships are named for the late Roy H. Park 31, an NC State alumnus who created the charitable Park Foundation, dedicated to education, media, and the environment. With a generous grant from the Park Foundation, the Park Scholarships program was established in 1996 to provide a superb educational opportunity for exceptionally talented and well-prepared young men and women who merit the intellectual challenge of a distinguished faculty and a superior university. This year Loveland high School is pleased to announce we have a winner of a Park Scholarship Jonathan Reese PRINCIPAL AND FACULTY Awards The recipients of the Citizenship, Service and Spirit Awards were chosen by the high School faculty.

This student maintains positive relationships with both peers and adults alike. SERVICE: Recognizing a student for his/her dedication to serving the needs of our School community. This student utilizes his/her talents, passions and expertise to make a difference on campus and in the community. A young person who truly takes pride in helping make a better world for others. SPIRIT: Recognizing a student for his/her pride in all things Loveland Tigers. This student is involved in spirited support of School and extra-curricular activities that affects the student body.

9 This is the story of two boys with the same name, living in the same city and the journey of a generation. One grew up to be a Rhodes Scholar, decorated combat veteran, White House Fellow, and business leader. The other is serving a life sen-tence in prison for felony murder. Wes discovered that the other Wes had a life not unlike his own: Both had grown up in similar neighborhoods and had difficult childhoods, both were fatherless; they d hung out on similar corners with similar crews, and both had run into trouble with the police. At each stage of their young lives they had come across similar moments of decision, yet their choices and the people in their lives would lead them to aston-ish-ingly different destinies.

10 This book is about how the choices and people in our lives matter. May it inspire thinking, encourage the challenged and empower young leaders to take on bold initiatives. The recipient of this award is: Claire Ruben BOARD OF EDUCATION STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES Student Representatives to the Loveland Board of Education are chosen from the junior and Senior class by the Board Members and serve a one year term. The students attend Board of Education Meetings and give a monthly Board report. Their presence provides student input to the Board and allows these students to improve the educational process for all Loveland students. The Student Representatives for this year were: Alan (Scott) Kendrick CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR A DAY In March, seniors from American Government Classes conducted the Loveland City Council meeting as part of a cooperative student government program between council and the School .
