2 Terms usedAntifreeze with corrosion inhibitor:Component of the Coolant for combustion engines ascorrosion and antifreeze protection, for lowering thefreezing point as well as raising the boiling point. Can alsobe called "concentrate". Must be used with water as perchapter , KM:Mixture of antifreeze with corrosion inhibitor and water forcooling engines. Coolants normally consist of antifreezewith corrosion inhibitor and additives:Anticorrosion agent that can be used for specialapplications mixed with water. 9 Water qualityClean and the softest possible water should be used forprocessing the Coolant . Drinking water often satisfies therequirements. Information concerning the water quality ofdrinking water is available from the local water-plantauthorities or the official water utilities on there is no available information regarding the waterquality or if no suitable water is available, then distilled ordeionized water should be used to prepare the water, brackish water, brine and industrial waters arenot suitable. Salts may promote corrosion or formdisruptive analysis values of the water for mixing coolants mustbe within the limits of table 5.
