1 Great Basin Safety - Wes White USE OF BARRICADE TAPEYELLOWVSRED We must identify and BARRICADE areas where health and safety hazards exist that might not beimmediately known to the persons who might enter the area. We can do this with several means include jersey barriers, blocking the entrance with equipment, placing cones or by placingbarricade tape . CFR TO USE YELLOW (CAUTION): Use YELLOW BARRICADE tape when the area being barricaded has safety andhealth concerns of a lower degree. This might include the use of hoses onthe ground, noise, equipment use, work area congestion etc.
2 YELLOW tape Enter, but proceed with caution. There must be a label for the barricaded area at each point of possibleentrance, stating the hazards within the area. Label must also state the contact person for that must read thehazards stated on the label prior to entry. Wen to Use Red Causion tape Use red BARRICADE type when the area being barricaded has safety and healthconcerns of an immediate or high potential degree. This might includeoverhead loads, suspended loads, work being performed overhead, high noiseexposure, open holes, fall protection required, confined space entry, etc.
3 Red tape Do not enter unless the entrant contacts the supervisor of the area. There must be a label for the barricaded area at each point of possible entrance, statingthe hazards within the area. Label must also state the supervisor or contact person forthe must gain access approval from the area supervisorprior to when you BARRICADE a project1 - Will there be children in the area?If so then Make it safe kids are not submissive to caution tape2 - If possible use plywood to surround hole or cover hole3 - Take your time when putting in place safety 's the mose important part of a jobYou never want to say!
