Jane and I just returned from a trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario, and eastern United States. What a beautiful experience and how much we saw God's creation and power illustrated in these magnifi- cent water falls. Seeing the rainbows from the boat trip was an awesome experience. We then traveled down through the States of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and finally home. Each day we had the opportunity to see God's creation and the beauty that He created in each area we visited. We met many different people on our trip and had an opportunity to share our love for the Lord.

Jane and I just returned from a trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario, and eastern United States. What a beautiful experience and how much we saw God's creation and power illustrated in these magnifi- cent water falls. Seeing the rainbows from the boat trip was an awesome experience. We met many different people on our trip and had an opportunity to share our love for the Lord.

2 It became very clear to us that each and every day we are faced with the choice to look at life through two very distinct lenses: The first is through the lens of our circumstances If things are good, life is good; if things are bad then life is bad. The second is through the lens of God s character His sovereignty, His unfailing love, His creation, His justice, and His kind intention to use any and every circumstance to draw us to Himself, transform our hearts, and fill us with joy as we The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. All of your works will thank you, Lord, and your faithful followers will praise you.

3 They will speak of the glory of your kingdom; they will give examples of your power. They will tell about your mighty deeds and about the majesty and glory of your reign. My memory today of the experience of seeing the stage production of Jesus in Ronks, PA. We experienced this with approximately 2,000 other attendees. The story of Jesus and his unfailing love for us and the fact He is alive today, was an awesome opportunity to experience and share with others.

5 Surrender of Self Walk Team Applications Flight Team Applications An updated version of the Pilgrim Application has been posted on the website. You may download it at Columbus Area Walk to Emmaus Pilgrim Application A Note from our Spiritual Emmaus The Upper Room, parent of the Emmaus & Chrysalis events, has developed a new experi- ence designed for Middle-School age youth (apologies to the Emmaus Board for reporting the wrong age group). It's called a Discovery Weekend, which is led by and held in a local church! The web- site describes it in this way: Discovery Weekend is for the entire church family. Middle school youth, no matter where they are on their faith journey, are invited to attend.

6 High school youth lead small groups and worship. Parents share gifts of love, presence, and prayer. Youth leaders provide overall leadership, direction, and supervision of the weekend. Church parishioners serve on the Discovery team. Sunday school classes and small groups provide prayer support, meals, and snacks. Clergy help with teaching, provide spiritual guidance, and, with parental in- volvement, celebrate baptism.. 7 SPONSORSHIP. SPONSORING: It is never too early to be praying for the upcoming walks and whom might God be putting on your heart to sponsor. Also, be aware that the Board has approved putting an additional two liner at end of candidate's application for candidate to check whether they want their email address to be put in the database for newsletters and strict- ly Emmaus reminders We are aware that some people may not want their email known and some would list their email if they knew it would be used in confidence for newsletter. Never used by a second or third party. I have received email addresses since this last walk since not everyone understood this.

8 And in today's world it is good to be cautious. REUNION GROUPS: I hope everyone has found a small group to be "at home" with for prayer and support. Your reunion group can be a new one or you can join an established one. It can be two people meeting, texting, praying, messaging, etc. in support of each other and accountability to each other. It could be 10 people who meet over a meal for 1. hour or several (according to one's schedule and inclination). The point of a reunion group is to be reminded frequently that we are not doing this walk alone; there are others sur- rounding us who can be helpful. It is a reminder that in "Counting On Christ" that we need others sometimes to help us be faithful to the max.

Psalm 92:1 It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. It was a wonderful evening of praise and worship at the June Gathering out at Ogilville UMC. The Emmaus music team 'Awaken' led us in worship with beautiful words and music. 10 The fall walk music teams are forming and God is providing the musicians. Anyone interested in playing on a walk music team can contact me as well. Important Information about Agape TABLE AGAPE. * 90-100 pieces for both team and pilgrims * 60 pieces for conference room only * label items if for a specific time ( bedtime agape/ Saturday Night Agape dinner, etc). Many great Agape ideas can be found on Pinterest and 101 Agape Ideas on the internet. PLEASE look for and pick up your left over agape at the end of each walk. We are not able to keep and store agape left over for future walks.
