3 Psalm 11:7 Some of us are attending Mass on a regular basis, Welcome back to the new normal! If you are uncomfortable coming back to Mass, the Bishop has extended the decree and dispenses the faithful from the obligation up until November 27. This is provided that for days of precept they do one of the following: A. Prayerfully participate in the Sunday or Holy Day of Obligation Mass livestreamed from their parish church or chapel, the Cathedral, or the Vatican. B. Prayerfully read and meditate on the readings of the Mass for the Sunday or Holy Day of Obligation, and recite the rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet.

4 There are some guidelines to observe when attending Mass for safety: Wear a mask when entering, exiting and in line for communion Holy water fonts shall remain empty. Communion will consist of only the Host (EM will use hand sanitizer before and after) in the hand The sign of peace will be a wave, nod No holding of hands during the Our Father The collection basket will be on a table to put your envelope in as you come in to Mass Families sit 6 ft apart from other families in the pews and social distancing when moving around Use hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving Bring your own missals as all books will be removed, if you want a missal to use, you can get one from the confessional, but you have to take it with you and bring it back for Mass.

5 Activity/Events at IC wednesday , Sept. 16 - PSR begins, 6:30 to 7:30 at the Parish Hall. Parents will be contacted with more information. Walk/Run for life on September 12, 2020 There will be a Walk for Life event on Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 at Lion s Club Park. This is sponsored by the Pregnancy Resource Center of Rolla, MO. If you would like to walk or run, there are flyers on the shelf in the foyer. Please pick one up or, if you do not want to participate by walking, you can also sponsor someone who is! Please help with this worthy event to help those in need! There will be no Masses on Monday, Tuesday and wednesday , Sept.

6 7, 8 and 9 as Father Griffey will be out of town. He will be saying a daily Mass so he will say the intentions listed for those days while he is on vacation. Parish Surveys Everyone should be getting a post card for the Parish Survey from the Diocese. Everyone 18 years and older should fill one out. They recommend you fill it our online, but if you do not have the ability to do that, there are some paper copies available on the bulletin board you can fill out and send to the Diocese or bring to the office and I can send them all together. A Weekly Holy Hour A Weekly Holy Hour A Weekly Holy Hour A Weekly Holy Hour ---- a time for quiet a time for quiet a time for quiet a time for quiet prayer and contemplationprayer and contemplationprayer and contemplationprayer and contemplation For several years, we had a Holy Hour for Eucharistic Adoration before each 5PM weekday mass.

9 A good number of parishioners have asked if this practice could be reinstated. Since we now have a 5PM mass on wednesday evenings, the logical time for a Holy Hour would be the hour preceding this mass. The service would begin at 4PM, usually with the Blessed Sacrament exposed for adoration. Then after a few short prayers, a meditation, or a song, there would be about 30 minutes of quiet time for personal prayer and meditation before our Lord. The service would then close by about 4:45PM with a brief group prayer such as a litany or the Divine Praises. If you are interested in having a weekly Holy Hour, please drop a line to Judy at or Tony Flaim at Judy will be out of the office on Monday, September 7 to celebrate Labor Day.

10 VIRTUS 'Protecting God's Children' Sessions to be held at St. Patrick Church September 10, 2020 from 6:00 - 9:00 October 8, 2020 from 6:00 - 9:00 Parish Center The 'Protecting God's Children' program for adults is a three hour live awareness session instructing adults of the Church that to protect children you must have constant awareness and vigilance. This awareness session helps trainees understand the signs of child sexual abuse, the methods and means by which offenders commit abuse, and five empowerment steps one can use to prevent child sexual abuse.
