2 Emergencyresponders are trained to look for these warning placarded or unplacarded hazmat shipments placethe lives of these individuals and others at risk. This module willreview how placards are used to communicate valuableinformation to these emergency responders, and others whodeal with these Materials on a daily completing Module 4 on Placarding, you should be ableto: Identify the requirements for placarding, and anyexceptions or modifications allowed with theserequirements. Examine the two placarding tables in (e) todetermine placarding requirements. One of the exceptions to these placardingrequirements provided for in the HMR involves the sevengroups of Materials listed here: Infectious substances; Hazardous Materials classed as ConsumerCommodities; Hazardous Materials offered for Transportation asLimited Quantities when identified as such on theshipping papers with the words Limited Quantity or Ltd Qty following the basic description; Hazardous Materials prepared in accordance with of the HMR; Hazardous Materials which are packaged as smallquantities under the provisions of of the HMR; Combustible liquids in non-bulk packagings.
