Chapter 4 - Pre-Trial

The court may refer any contested civil matter, or selected issues in a civil matter, to a “dispute resolution evaluation session.” Va. Code § 8.01-576.5. When a petition is filed to initiate a condemnation proceeding, the court is required to refer the parties to a dispute resolution orientation session. Va. Code § 25.1-205.1.
