on my scooter to meet my mother from work. My favourite pastime, again alone, was exploring the ‘gullies’; the dirt tracks between the garages at the bottoms of the gardens. I searched for bits of shiny, broken, coloured glass and pottery to add to my treasure box, which I would sort and arrange in patterns for hours.
