PRESSURE-ENTHALPY CHARTS AND THEIR USE - RSES

In refrigeration service work, gauge pressure (psig) is generally used. On a pressure-enthalpy diagram, however, the pressure is shown as absolute pressure (psia.) The difference between the two is about 14.7 pounds per square inch or about 30 inches of mercury (29.92 inches of mercury, to be more precise).
