The FOUR-WAY FLASHER units, (emergencyor HAZARD flashers) were first installed on the 1960 passenger cars andhad a switch that mounted under the dash. Chevrolet later moved theswitch to the steering column. The new FOUR-WAY FLASHER switch may bemounted on the bottom of the dash or can be hidden in the glove box. Thewires splice easily into the stock dash harness. The P/N 22-280 four -wayflasher kit can be used on any pre-1973 Chevrolet car or truck with a 12-volt system.

2 Our thanks to Chuck Engelman #10089309 from Grove City,OH for engineering this kit and sharing his design with us!Randy Irwin - Technical WriterRandy has been involved in the Chevyparts business for over 25 years. He is a wiz-ard at creating, making and modifying customparts for Chevys. Photo #2: The jack onthe dash harness thatconnects to the turnsignal switch has sixwires. 4 Each wire in thefour way FLASHER kit is markedfor it s particular function, ie, left front turn signal , rightfront turn signal and so on. Photo #4a & 4b & 4c: Usingthe factory wiring diagram foryour particular car, locate thewires in the dash harness forthe left and right front turnsignal and the left and rightrear turn signal at the turnsignal switch jack. Now usingthe supplied connectors, connect the wires from thefour way FLASHER unit to thedash harness. Now, the turn signal switch can be plugged backinto the dash harness. Photo #5a & 5b: The FLASHER pod is plugged into a pre-wiredtwo-wire connector. The brown wire is connected to the FOUR-WAY FLASHER switch. The red wire is fused and needs to beconnected to a constant 12 volt source.

5 On the end of the redwire there is a female and a male connector. Unplug the pinkwire on the ignition switch and connect the female connectoron the red wire to the ignition switch. Next plug the pink wireinto the male connector on the red wire. There will be aconstant 12-volt supplied to the FOUR-WAY FLASHER even when thekey is off. Good Luck.#4a#4b#4c#5a#5b
