5 Datum pointPresent basic monthly salaries (excluding any bonuses, but including commission) of surveyed job seekers as of 1 March 2021 were recorded, and adjustment to basic monthly salaries compared with those in 2020 was captured based on job seekers declared Data collection methodThe Survey was conducted by an online questionnaire. Job seekers were invited to fill in the questionnaire from 1 March to 21 March Data analysisSurveyed job seekers were requested to provide data of their basic monthly salaries as of 1 March 2021, recent Salary adjustment, bonus, double pay, job status, job title, job function, and industry of their data was analyzed to determine the arithmetic average for Salary adjustment and bonus received.

6 To avoid extreme values, outliers with values that are more than three standard deviations from the mean were excluded for analysis. Analysis was conducted to identify any differences that might exist in Salary and bonus adjustment among 31 job functions. (Percentage of monthly Salary adjustment in 2021 by position will only be shown if sufficient data is collected for calculation.) 8 DefinitionWeightingTo provide a representative overall view, data is weighted according to distribution of industry as per government monthly Salary (HK$):The present monthly Salary excluding any bonuses (both guaranteed and non-guaranteed bonuses) but including commission.
