3 Learn more at Who needs a michigan fshing license?A license is required when targeting fsh,amphibians, crustaceans and/or reptiles in publicwaters of the state. If you are 17 years of age orolder and fsh in michigan you must purchase afshing license. If you are under 17, you may fshwithout a license, but you are required to observeall fshing rules and regulations. Turning 17 at anypoint during the current season (April 1 - March 31)You'll need to buy a license once you do! The new youth fshing license is voluntary and notrequired for ages 16 and under.
