2022 BALTIMORE CITY 2022 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

2022 BALTIMORE CITY. 2022. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS . MAYOR. BRANDON M. SCOTT. BALTIMORE , as I write this message to you, I am renewed in my belief now more than ever that our City's best days are ahead of us. I know that many of us believed we would have the COVID-19 pandemic in our rear-view mirrors by now, but we are still in this fight. I need all residents to continue to be vigilant in their safeguards for themselves and their families. This begins with making sure each and every eligible resident is vaccinated. Vaccination will help protect those residents who are unable to be vaccinated or children under the age of 5, who aren't eligible to be vaccinated yet. As a reminder, you can visit to find vaccination opportunities near you, free of charge.

1 2022 BALTIMORE CITY. 2 BALTIMORE , we are in this fight together, and to make it to the other side we have to take care of one another. We continue to realize just how important it is that we maintain and support essential City services. We are grateful for DPW and its dedicated staff for the vital City services they continue to provide, even during the pandemic. As a city, we will continue to support our residents, staff, and customers. DPW and our other City agencies will continue to partner with our communities and increase their efforts to make BALTIMORE City cleaner, greener, safer, and stronger. This will include activities such as Mayor's cleanups and other special household and neighborhood waste collection events included in this calendar. I am also excited about our first of its kind equitable distribution of recycling carts to all households in BALTIMORE City to improve residents'.

3 Access to safe, effective recycling and improved collection infrastructure. My administration will continue to focus on new and innovative approaches to tackle challenges to our environment. Best wishes for a safe, healthy, and productive New Year! In service, Mayor Brandon M. Scott 2022. DIRECTOR. JASON W. MITCHELL. Happy New Year to each of you! What an exciting opportunity for myself and my entire family to be able to call BALTIMORE home. I have had the chance to travel through the various neighborhoods and it has been a true pleasure to meet with residents, the business community, and leaders of our local institutions. These engagements have helped me embrace all that makes BALTIMORE a beautiful and historic city. With gratitude and appreciation, you have made my journey here inviting and welcoming.

4 Your support humbles me as the new Director for the DEPARTMENT of PUBLIC WORKS (DPW) of this amazing city. I would be remiss if I did not take the time to acknowledge and thank each of you, our residents of this great city, for believing and supporting DPW's workforce. It is primarily due to the hard work, dedication, and tireless commitment of our devoted staff, who genuinely love this city, many of whom call it home. Like many agencies across city governments, DPW faced many challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as essential workers, many of our staff continued to report daily. We delivered quality services throughout BALTIMORE City and the region to ensure our water was safe, streets clean, trash collected, and calls returned.

5 Did we encounter challenges to keep pace with the routine schedules? Absolutely, but DPW endured because of residents' trust and staff devotion. I applaud and thank everyone for your endless support. DPW will continue to improve the quality of services and programs for BALTIMORE City residents. We are excited about ensuring Equity in All We Do, educating internal and external stakeholders, eradicating litter and blight, and providing environmental enforcement to enhance the beauty of the City of BALTIMORE . We Are DPW Proud. Flow With Us . Committed to Service, 2022. Jason W. Mitchell 2022. Everybody can be anybody can serve. - Martin Luther King Jr. Focused on community engagement, volunteerism and awareness, DPW. encourages residents to participate in a day of service.
