All HERION solenoids are rated for 100% duty cyclecomplying to insulation class 155 F (Class F).Features: The solenoids are attached to the valve with a so-lenoid retaining nut. The coil of the solenoid is a pressuremolded encapsulation. The electrical connection is madethrough three prongs (2 power, 1 ground) which attach to themating connector with one screw. Solenoids are stocked for24 VDC and 120 VAC 60 Connector Part NumbersSolenoidCableLighted - Cable ClampSeriesClamp1/2 NPT24 VAC DC120 VAC220 VAC0801057027506613740570818057081605708 17 CONNECTORS tandard cable clamp type connectors are included with the soleoid.

6 Optionalconnectors may be selected from the following table:Power ConnectionDC - 16 WAC - 50 VA Inrush, 27 VA HoldingINTERNAL AIR VERSUS EXTERNAL AIR PILOTThe pilot valve requires an air supply, in turn the pilotvalve delivers the air to operate the main valve. Thispilot air is normally taken from the inlet supply pres-sure at port number one. There are times when it maybe necessary or desirable to use an external sourcefor the pilot REASONS FOR USING AN EXTERNALPILOT SUPPLY1. VALVES on vacuum service - the pilot air must bea positive Inlet pressure drops below the minimum 30 psigrequired for internal pilot The air supply to the valve may contain particlesof a size that could safely pass through the mainvalve but might block the smaller passages inthe pilot FROM INTERNAL TO EXTERNALPILOT AIR (field conversion)1.

7 For to 1 VALVES the 4 screws holding the pilotvalve assembly are removed. The pilot valve isrotated 180 and reinstalled. Refer to Fig. For 1 to 2 VALVES the pilot valve assembly isremoved, but it is not rotated. Install a threadedscrew (M8 x 6mm long) in the tapped hole andseal it with a thread sealant. See part # 29 inFig.# 15. The plug shown as part # 71 in figures3. # 2, # 3, # 5 and # 6 must be removed. The plughole is tapped with G pipe threads. It requiresan adapter when converted to NPT threads toconnect the external air supply. This screw andadapter are available from HERION. When thevalve is ordered by the external pilot part numberthe adapter and screw will have been SECTION DRAWINGSFig. 1 1/2 to 1 VALVES - normally closedFig. 2 1 1/4 VALVES - normally closedFig. 3 1 1/2 and 2 VALVES - normally closedFig.
