Sincethen, it has adapted to the Australianclimate and has been allowed tospread virtually unimpeded. Lantana is now a Weed of NationalSignificance due to its detrimentalimpacts on Australia s environmentand agriculture.
6 Its invasiveness andits potential for fuelling intensewildfires are threats to is toxic to stock, andreduces profitability for manylandholders by out-competingpasture and increasing using integrated managementpractices, lantana can be controlledin most land-use is one way to controllantana, but there is a large range ofcontrol options available to suit everysituation. 8 All control methodsshould be integrated with herbicideuse to develop best managementoutcomes. This makes sense for botheconomic and are suitable for lantanaheights from m at times ofactive growth.
