1 A HISTORY OF DORR-OLIVER 1904 Dorr Company founded by Dr. John Van Norstrand Dorr, 1872-1962. Began his career at 16 years of age working in the laboratories of Thomas Alva Edison 1907 oliver Company founded by Dr. Edwin Letz oliver , 1878-1955. A Californian from San Francisco and a graduate of the University of California 1914 The Sanitary District of Chicago installs a new Machine called a Dorr Clarifier 1916 The first DORRCOTM Suction Pumps are built 1919 oliver sells the first Lime Mud Washer and enters the Pulp & Paper industry. Dorr develops the washer and slurry mixer 1920 oliver sells the first Pulp Washer for washing Soda Pulp Dorr develops the Cane Juice Clarifier and sells the first one through a Representative in Havana Cuba 1921 Dorr develops the Olivite Centrifugal Pump 1922 oliver sells the first Sewage Filter 1923 Dorr develops Rectangular Clarifiers for Sewage Treatment FLSmidth DORR-OLIVER Eimc:o Inc.

First installation is Bergen/Dumont, NJ STP in 1948 1949 National Filter Media formed by consolidating two Smaller companies to manufacture and market Filter Media 1954 Dorr and oliver merge for the second time 1955 Merrill Company acquired and adds the Merco Centrifuge 1965 DORR-OLIVER market the Gorator under license From Neidl, Germany First two prototypes of the GN series sold to Du Pont Washington, WV Polyvinyl Butal plant for plastic laminate used in automobile safety glass.

6 1925 -- oliver sells the first filter for cane mud to a sugar mill in Hawaii. 1925 --DOff develops washing tray thickener and opens overseas offices in Paris and Berlin. 1927 --DOff designs Detritor for sewage degritting. 1928 -- oliver acquires United Filter, and with it the company's principal manufacturing facility in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Also develops and markets first oliver -Campbell cane mud filter for sugar processing. 1931 --DOff establishes a facility in The Hague (now in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands). 1931 --DOff and oliver merge for first time. 1933 --DOff establishes representation in India. 1934 --The merger is dissolved. HISTORICAL UPDATE continued 1935 --Dorr develops the Torq Thickener.

7 1937 - oliver develops and markets the Precoat Filter. 1937 --Dorr develops a combination washing type tray thickener. 1938 --Dorr develops the slaker. 1939 - oliver develops and markets the ODS Pump (a diaphragm slurry pump). 1946 --Dorr establishes representation in Venezuela. 1947 - DORR-OLIVER markets the WLF Sulzer Disintegrator. First installation BergenfieldlDumont, NJ STP May 1948. 1949 - National Filter Media Corporation formed by consolidating two smaller companies to manufacture and market filter media. 1954 --Dorr and oliver companies merge for second time. 1956 --Merrill Company (Merco centrifugals) is acquired. 1965 - DORR-OLIVER begins to market, the Gorator under license from George Neidl.

8 First installation DuPonts Polyvinyl Butal plant for plastic laminate use in automobile safety glass. 1968 - DORR-OLIVER introduces the Cabletorq Thickener. 1968 --Curtiss Wright acquires Majority ofDorr- oliver stock. 1969170 - Spring Assist and Air Cylinder Assist ODS Pumps are introduced. 1979 - Curtiss-Wright completes acquisition ofDorr- oliver stock. 1981 --Kennecott acquires DORR-OLIVER . 1981 --Kennecott and Sohio merge. 2 HISTORICAL UPDATE continued 1987 --Contor Holdings acquires DORR-OLIVER and Keeler. 1988 --Leveraged buyout by DORR-OLIVER management. 1991 --ODS Automatic Pressure Control System (Patented 5,252,041) is introduced. First installation Hershey Chocolate in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.
