Community Youth Services (CYS) Administration: 6300 Chimney Rock 713-295-2500 Ginger Harper, Youth Services Division Administrator Kristen Ballard, Program Manager John Magliolo, Program Manager Community Youth Services , a Program of Harris County Protective Services for children and Adults (HCPS), is a school-based crisis intervention, counseling, and case management service that provides practical assistance to families of children and youth who are experiencing problems.

9 In partnership with the local schools/other governmental entities, the Services of CYS are available to students in 13 Harris County school districts, as well as the Pasadena Police Department, and the Educational Services Division of the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department. All Services of CYS are voluntary and provided at no cost to the family. In counseling youth and their families, CYS also searches among the many agencies throughout Harris County to locate and help clients obtain needed social Services to resolve family problems.

10 Truancy, runaway, pregnancy, drug, school, economic and family problems are appropriate referrals. When providing Services , CYS will visit the family in their home or at the CYS offices on the school campus in the client s community. CYS can also serve as a liaison with other youth serving agencies of the County such as Juvenile Probation, children s Protective Services and Mental Health/Mental Retardation when youth and family have multi-agency involvement. To get help, simply telephone the Youth Service Specialist (YSS) for your school district or their supervisor during school hours.
