(Vacancy No. 21091301625) Two vacancies for the post of Assistant Engineer (Naval Quality Assurance) Electrical, Directorate of Quality Assurance (Naval), DGQA, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence ( OBC-01, UR-01). The vacancies are suitable for candidates belonging to category of Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) viz. Deaf and Hard of Hearing with disability Hard of Hearing (HH), Locomotor Disability including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims with disability One leg affected (R or L) (OL). The post is permanent. General Central Service Group- B Gazetted (Non-Ministerial). Pay Scale: Level- 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Age: 30 years. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: (A) EDUCATIONAL: Degree in Engineering in the disciplines of Electrical/ Electronics engineering from a recognized university.
2 (B) EXPERIENCE: Two years practical experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control/ Production / Manufacturing and testing of Engineering equipments including knowledge of various standards and their interpretation. DESIRABLE: Experience in Computer operation for the purpose of preparation of technical reports, technical briefs etc. NOTE: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. DUTIES: The officer shall be responsible for quality assurance, acceptance, inspection of equipments and stores, defect investigation, trials, vetting of draft indents / agreements/ supply orders, sampling plans, liaison with production units, removal of bottlenecks and suggesting methods of improvement of quality. HQ: New Delhi with liability to serve anywhere in India. Any Other Condition: Candidate recruited to the post will be covered by the New Contributory Pension Scheme and the candidates selected are required to join immediately.

6 (B). EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in Nautical Chart Compilation and Digital Cartography. [Experience should be from Government or autonomous organization or statutory body or public sector undertaking or University or recognized research institution] DESIRABLE: (i) Certificate or diploma in foreign language, preferably French. (ii) At least one year experience in application of geographical information system technology NOTE: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. DUTIES: Confirmation of Geodetic data, calculation and plotting of projections to assist in compilation of navigational and other charts. 8 DUTIES: Evaluation and execution of work pertaining to ships' refit modernization, modifications to keep the ships ready for operations. Besides, he will be responsible for preventive maintenance routines, schedules, periodicity and refit planning with reference to capacities of work centers of Dockyard.
