1 1 Afkortingenlijst Supply Chain Management, Inkoop en Logistiek Versie 2010 Omstreeks 1990 ben ik als redacteur van het Handboek Logistiek gevraagd om een Afkortingenlijst van inkoop- en logistieke begrippen op te stellen. Uit diverse logistieke boeken werden de afkortingen verzameld en in de lijst opgenomen. Dit initiatief is overgenomen door het blad Logistiek en leidde tot een ABC-boekje. Daar kwamen ook afkortingen in voor uit de dagelijkse praktijk of die vergelijkbaar zijn met de begrippen uit inkoop en logistiek. Deze lijst groeide gestaag in de daarop volgende jaren.
2 Omstreeks 2005 is de lijst weer eens compleet herzien. Het werd weer eens tijd om de lijst bij te werken. Deze lijst is nu nog even in ontwikkeling en wordt zeker aangevuld. Gezien het feit dat het vakgebied rondom logistiek steeds meer grensoverschrijdend is werd gekozen voor de gewijzigde titel waarin ook het begrip Supply Chain management integraal is opgenomen. Als auteur van het boek Werken met logistiek (WML) wordt het nut gezien om extra materiaal bij het boek te ontwikkelen voor studenten die verder gaan zoeken. Moge deze lijst daar een bijdrage aan geven. Hierdoor wordt duidelijk welke afkortingen al gebruikt worden en wat voor verwarring verkeerd gebruik kan opleveren.
3 De bronvermelding wordt in dit document nog niet gebruikt. Het zou daardoor te onoverzichtelijk gaan worden. Met 41 pagina s en bijna 1600 afkortingen denken we u een dienst van toegevoegde waarde te kunnen leveren. De zesde druk van WML (2011) bevat de meest gebruikte termen op logistiek gebied. Deze lijst is een aanvulling en het zou fijn zijn als u hier een bijdrage aan zou kunnen leveren door nog meer termen aan te dragen. Het is duidelijk dat er ook fouten kunnen voorkomen in deze lijst. Het gebruik van deze termen is derhalve voor eigen rekening en verantwoording. Hier kunnen geen garanties bij verleend worden.
