2 = Object Velocity - In/secGENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe air PROXIMITY SENSOR is a non-contact,no-moving-part SENSOR , capable of detect-ing the presence of an object at ranges up to1/8". In the absence of an object, air flowsfreely from the SENSOR resulting in a nearzero output signal. The presence of an ob-ject within the sensing range deflects thenormal air flow and results in a positiveoutput low supply pressure, flow from thesensor exerts only minute force on the ob-ject being sensed and is consequently ap-propriate for use where the object is light-weight, or easily marred by mechanical sen-sors. Since there are no moving mechanicalparts in the air PROXIMITY SENSOR , there are noinherent wear mechanisms or life limita-tions.
