1 An Encounter with God in Prayer2 Appreciation:To God for the ministry of Glenn Coon, Sr., whose books and tapes brought clear understanding back in 1969 that the promises of the Bible can be asked for, be-lieved, and claimed. My eyes were opened to learn that thanks can be offered in Prayer immediately though there may be no feeling or outward evidence of an answer. Our God is trustworthy! To God for Eleanor Anderson who, from the beginning, urged me to share with oth-ers whatever was learned about Prayer .
2 Praise God for the blessing of deep fellow-ship in Prayer with literally thousands of other persons around the world since that God for Maurice Vargas Prayer Therapy, and Michael Curzon s Praying in the Sanctuary. Listening to these two men in Prayer has taught me much about commu-nion with the Lord. In fact, Prayer Therapy is at the foundation of the Encounter Prayer God for my husband, Merlin, whose consistent personal Prayer life has been an inspiration to me for over thirty-five years. How could one dream of a better Prayer partner, willing to pray at any hour of the day or night about anything?
3 I thank God for such a God that the Holy Spirit introduced me in Prayer to my personal Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. His presence has brought conviction, forgiveness, peace and a sense of urgency. And it was the Holy Spirit who brought to mind the name of this particular approach to Prayer which we share with you now: An Encounter With God in Prayer . Revelation 14:6, 7 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people say-ing with a loud voice, Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water. Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, tak-ing the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
10 And being found in ap-pearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the you begin the special Prayer time, you ll always want to claim God s protection.
