1 ANBLPN/AIAANB 384 rue Smythe, Fredericton NB E3B 3E4 Tel: 506-453-0747 / 1-800-942-0222 Fax: 1-506-459-0503 PROCESS FOR STUDENT practical NURSES The Association of New Brunswick Licensed practical Nurses ( anblpn ) would like to congratulate you on entering the field of nursing. anblpn is the professional body that holds legislative responsibility for the registration of practical nurses in the province of New Brunswick. Once you have successfully completed the program you will be required to pass the national exam. This exam is referred to as the CPNRE (Canadian practical Nurse Registration Exam). STEP ONE: 1. Complete student registration form for anblpn during orientation provided by anblpn 2. Obtain the following documents: o current criminal record check o grade twelve transcript or equivalent (GED) which shows completion of the program pre-requisites.
2 If a pre-requisite is obtained after grade 12, include the transcript for this course as well. o birth or baptismal certificate o marriage certificate or divorce decree if necessary (required for female student s proof of name) Send all documents to anblpn within 2 months of the starting date of your nursing program. STEP TWO: 3. Complete the practical nursing program with a minimum of 75% on every subject. STEP THREE: 4. Obtain your second and final current criminal record check Mail to anblpn within 2 months of the graduating date of your nursing program. STEP FOUR: 5. Graduate from the practical Nursing Program! 6. Obtain an official transcript of marks (75% on all subjects) which bears the College seal, date of graduation and is signed by the Registrar in a sealed envelope. 7. Fill out the following forms on our website then click PN Student button: o Graduate practical Nurse Registration Form (if planning to work) PRINT & SIGN o Canadian practical Nurse Registration Examination Application Form PRINT & SIGN o Application for Registration for anblpn PRINT & SIGN 8.
3 Review Examination Windows on website, pick a window to write in and take note of FEE. 9. Mail to anblpn or provide in person all three SIGNED documents, your official transcript with FEES required for both exam and graduate practical nurse license (if planning to work). Please note: All applications received by anblpn will be sent to Assessment Strategies Inc. (ASI) on a weekly basis. Upon receipt of your information, ASI will confirm with you directly by email. Once this confirmation email is received, you may schedule your CPNRE exam with Pearson Vue by following the instructions provided to you by Pearson Vue. Thank you for your cooperation!
