Work Integrated Learning Programmes Engineering Technology Call:+91-80-48767777. Technology of this age is truly interdisciplinary. Technologists with a multi-domain perspective have an advantage over the specialists and such graduates are sought-after by the Engineering enterprises. The seven semester Engineering Technology programme is Work Integrated Learning Programme for working professionals that is designed to provide this advantage to the learners. The programme provides a broad intellectual foundation in contemporary technologies while developing the relevant Engineering fundamentals and introduces the important methods of Technology practice. Engineering Technology is a BITS Pilani Work Integrated Learning Programme, {WILP} BITS Pilani Work Integrated Learning Programmes are UGC approved. Who Should Apply? Highly driven and ambitious engineers who wish to gain deep insight into Core Engineering , Manufacturing and Executive Management functions.

Experienced professionals aspiring to gain an overall competency in the popular Technology domains, which sets them apart from narrow specialisations. Engineering Technology What are the Highlights of the Programme? Engineering Technology for working professionals is approved by UGC, and can be pursued along with your job. The programme is of seven semesters, with online classes conducted mostly on weekends or after business hours. You can pursue the programme without any career break. Contact-less and safe Online exams facility. The programme positions the professionals out of narrow Technology domains thus enabling them to gain an overall perspective to address the Engineering field, which has evolved to be interdisciplinary. A blend of foundational sciences, core technologies and execution management develops a rounded professional competence, which is a requirement for strong professional development. Students learn to use contemporary computation tools such as PTC Creo, MATLAB, Flownex, Flexsim and Remote lab on Fluid Mechanics, which build the technical skill and competency of the students thus enhancing their professional value.

The Dissertation (Project Work) in the final semester enables students to apply concepts and techniques learnt during the programme. The programme uses a Continuous Evaluation System that assesses the learners over convenient and regular intervals. Such a system provides timely and frequent feedback and helps busy working professionals stay on course with the programme. The education delivery methodology is a blend of classroom and experiential learning. Experiential learning consists of lab exercises, assignments, case studies and work integrated activities. Participants who successfully complete the programme will become members of an elite & global community of BITS Pilani Alumni. Option to submit fee using easy-EMI with 0% interest. Engineering Technology What are the programme objectives? Studies have shown that senior positions in Technology industry require holistic understanding and capabilities that span multiple technologies, critical thinking &.

Problem solving situations and cross-functional collaboration. This programme aims to: Create technologists equipped to lead various organisational functions that demand application of working-knowledge in areas related to Mechanical, Circuits, Thermal and Manufacturing systems to successfully address the needs of the customer and society. The learning from the program will help the students develop and implement innovative technological solutions for industrial problems. Enable communication skills to effectively interact as members of cross functional teams. The students are instilled with values of professional responsibility and commitment to ethical action. Build and nurture the knowledge, skills and aptitude required to realise long-term career growth and enables participants to undertake higher responsibilities at the workplace. Provide requisite conceptual foundation, and contextual understanding of real-world applications that enable a learner to enhance workplace performance and stand out among peers for growth opportunities.

What are the student learning outcomes? Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will: Apply fundamental principles of Engineering & Technology in selected domains. Apply Mathematics and Science to an Engineering problem. Identify, formulate and solve Industrial problems using Technology and understand its impact in a global and societal context. Specify standard manufacturing processes, electrical & electronic systems and measurement techniques. Successfully carryout small and medium-range projects considering both the technical and financial perspective. Function as part of a team and communicate effectively across. Engineering Technology Learning methodology Attend online lectures over weekends Lectures are conducted live via online classes. These lectures can be attended via the internet using a computer from any location. These online classrooms offer similar levels of interactivity as regular classrooms at the BITS Pilani campus.

Classes for students admitted during the period Oct 2021 - Jan 2022 will begin in Jan 2022. The class schedule is announced within 1 week of completion of the admission process. The online lectures are conducted usually over weekends for a total of 7-8 hours per week. If you miss a lecture, you can also access the recorded lecture on the internet. Digital learning Learners can access engaging learning material at their own pace which includes recorded lectures from BITS Pilani faculty members, course handouts and recorded lab content where applicable. Experiential learning The programme emphasises on Experiential Learning that allows learners to apply concepts learnt in classroom in simulated, and real work situations. This is achieved through: Simulation Tools, Platforms & Environments: Some or all of the following would be utilised across the programme. Simulation environments for Circuits such as LabView & MultiSim Modelling & Analysis using PTC Creo & MATLAB.

Thermal Engineering concepts using Flownex Simulation tool and Fluid Mechanics Remote Labs Manufacturing process simulation using Afdex & Zcastpro Manufacturing management using FlexSim Engineering Technology Case studies and assignments Carefully chosen real-world cases & assignments are both discussed and used as problem-solving exercises during the programme Dissertation/Project work The seventh semester offers an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge gained during the programme to a real-world like complex project. The learner is expected to demonstrate understanding of vital principles learnt across semesters and their ability to successfully apply these concepts. Continuous assessment Continuous Assessment includes graded Assignments/Quizzes, Mid-semester exam, and Comprehensive Exam. Online Exams facility available Engineering Technology VIRTUAL LAB. The Virtual Lab is a cloud based simulation space, where participants can design, develop and test solutions for industry scale problems.

The lab hosts a range of popular software tools that can simulate the complete spectrum of Engineering processes to the accuracy and precision of real-life. The lab is open 24x7, 365 days with a live support. LAB ARCHITECTURE. The lab is organised around six Engineering domains such as, thermal, design, materials, manufacturing, circuits and operations. The structured lab exercises are packaged as simulation-capsules that guide the students through a sequence of practice problems of increasing complexity eventually to build the competency to solve an industry scale problem. Participants required to perform experiments as a part of their course work can select their suitable time, schedule the session and perform the experiments by accessing the lab from any geographical location if they only have a basic internet connection. LEARNING OUTCOMES: On completion of the experiment, participants can download the results, analyse and submit the report in the learning management system for evaluation.

Apply the gained knowledge in solving creative industry scale problems. Participants of Engineering Technology can access the following Virtual Labs: Engineering Technology INDUSTRIAL Engineering . VIRTUAL LAB. Manufacturing management is a 3D simulation platform that models, simulates, predicts, and visualizes systems in manufacturing, material handling, healthcare, warehousing, mining, logistics, etc. Participants can use the Industrial Engineering Virtual Lab to perform the following experiments: Lean Manufacturing. Flexible Manufacturing Systems. Total quality maintenance. Production planning and control. Manufacturing excellence. Operations Management. LEARNING OUTCOMES: Optimize current and planned processes, identify and decrease waste, reduce cost, and increase revenue. Test important facets of your business, and determine which changes will optimize your system and increase revenue. Help management or clients to visualize the environment and buy into a new system or a proposed change.

Participants of Engineering Technology can access the following Virtual Labs: Software used: Flexsim Engineering DESIGN. VIRTUAL LAB. Any part or assembly design requires inspection, analysis and validation before going to production. Engineering Design Virtual Lab helps in understanding the implementation of various design process approach involves in all level of design, assembly, drafting and analysis of components to the real-world problems.
